What does it look like to know God as Father? This familiar New Testament theme is explored in a modern allegorical way through a series of colorful portraits. My aim is to address the desperate need in our culture for the love, acceptance, and identity that only a father can give his child. I pair specific Bible verses with images of real fathers and children from the Hampton Roads area to parallel the relatable idea of knowing God as a Father.

Visual representations of God are often limited to Biblical imagery. My goal is not to create religious artwork, but rather, art that makes relationship with God visible, real, and accessible. With a view of God as Father, faith melts from a mountain-high to-do list, to a simple invitation into a relationship where the viewer has permission, as a child, to explore, mess up, and be loved without merit.
